Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 26, 2026

Logies Lab Studio ("Logies Lab", "I", "me") builds conversion-first websites for service businesses across New Zealand and Australia. This policy explains what personal information I collect, why I collect it, who it goes to, and what you can do about it.

It's written plainly on purpose. If anything here isn't clear, email me at hello@logieslab.studio and I'll explain it.

This policy is governed by the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020.

Who I am

Logies Lab Studio Logan Curtin, trading as Logies Lab Studio hello@logieslab.studio

Logies Lab is a solo, founder-led studio. I handle your information myself. Where contractors are involved in a project, they're covered under the same obligations set out here.

Privacy officer. The Privacy Act requires every business to appoint one. For Logies Lab that's me — Logan, founder. Every privacy question, request, or complaint comes straight to me at hello@logieslab.studio.

What I collect

When you fill in a form

Logies Lab runs several forms. What each one collects:

Application forms (studio application and 1-1-1 Launchpad application) Business name, business type, location, current website, what you need, your primary goal, timeline, budget range, content readiness, contact name, email address, and anything else you choose to tell me.

Upgrade menu request Name, email address, business name, and what you're interested in.

Free website audit request Name, email address, business name, and your current website address.

You choose what to submit. Fields marked required are the minimum I need to respond usefully — if you'd rather not provide them, email me directly instead.

When you visit the site

Standard analytics: pages viewed, time on page, approximate location (city or region level), device and browser type, and how you arrived at the site. This is collected through Google Analytics and Webflow's own hosting analytics. It's used to understand how the site performs — not to identify you personally.

Cookies are used for analytics and basic site function. Your browser can block or delete them; the site will still work.

When you become a client

Project material you send me: copy, images, brand assets, logins and access credentials, business details, and billing information. Payments are processed by Stripe — I don't see or store your full card details.

Project communication is kept in email, Notion, and Loom.

Why I collect it

  • To answer your enquiry and work out whether the project is a fit
  • To send you the specific thing you asked for — an audit, the upgrade menu, a proposal
  • To deliver a project you've engaged me for
  • To invoice you and keep the tax records I'm legally required to keep
  • To follow up on an enquiry that hasn't gone anywhere yet (see below)
  • To understand how the website performs and improve it

I don't sell your information. I don't rent it, trade it, or hand it to advertisers.

Follow-up and marketing emails

If you submit an enquiry or request something through the site and I don't hear back, I may send one follow-up email about that enquiry. That's it — there's no ongoing newsletter, and I don't add you to a general mailing list.

Every one of those emails includes:

  • Clear identification that it's from Logies Lab, with my contact details
  • A working unsubscribe link

Unsubscribing stops it immediately. One click, no questions, no "are you sure". You can also just reply and tell me to stop, or email hello@logieslab.studio. I'll action it within five working days at the outside, and in practice far sooner.

Unsubscribing from follow-ups doesn't affect anything else — if you're a client, you'll still get the project and account emails you need.

Transactional messages — a form confirmation, an invoice, a project update, a reply to something you asked — aren't marketing and don't carry an unsubscribe link.

Who else sees your information

Logies Lab runs on third-party tools. Your information may pass through these, and each has its own privacy policy:

Tools and what they handle. "Webflow", website hosting and form submissions. "Make", automating form submissions, notifications, and follow-up emails. "Notion", enquiry records, project management, and client portals. "Google Analytics", website usage statistics. "Stripe", payment processing (clients only). "Loom", video walkthroughs and project reviews. "Google Workspace", email, including any follow-up emails

Beyond these, I disclose personal information only where:

  • You've asked me to, or agreed to it
  • A contractor needs it to do work on your project, under the same obligations
  • I'm required to by law

Information held overseas

The tools above are run by overseas companies, mostly in the United States and Europe, and your information is stored on their servers.

Most of them hold it on my behalf — Webflow, Make, Notion, Loom, and Google Workspace store and process your information so I can run the studio. They don't use it for their own purposes, and it stays my responsibility, not theirs.

Two are different. Stripe uses payment information for its own fraud prevention and compliance, and Google Analytics uses site data for its own analytics services. Both are bound by data processing agreements requiring them to protect your information to a standard comparable to New Zealand's.

If you'd rather your information wasn't handled by overseas providers at all, don't use the forms — email or phone me instead and we'll sort something out.

How long I keep it

  • Enquiries that don't proceed: up to 24 months, then deleted
  • If you unsubscribe: I keep your email address on a suppression list indefinitely, and nothing else. It's the only reliable way to make sure you're never contacted again.
  • Client project records: for the life of the engagement, then seven years, to meet New Zealand tax and record-keeping requirements
  • Analytics: 14 months
  • If you ask me to delete your information: I'll do it, unless I'm legally required to keep it

Keeping it safe

I take reasonable steps to protect your information: reputable providers, two-factor authentication on accounts that hold personal data, access limited to me and to any contractor who genuinely needs it, and credentials handled with care and revoked at project end.

No system is perfectly secure and I won't pretend otherwise. If a privacy breach happens that could cause you serious harm, I'll notify you and the Office of the Privacy Commissioner, as the Privacy Act 2020 requires.

Your rights

Under the Privacy Act 2020 you can:

  • Ask what I hold about you. Email me and I'll tell you.
  • Ask me to correct it if it's wrong.
  • Ask me to delete it, subject to any legal obligation to retain it.
  • Opt out of follow-up emails at any time.

Email hello@logieslab.studio. I'll respond within 20 working days, which is the statutory maximum — usually much sooner.

If you're not happy with how I've handled your information, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner: privacy.org.nz · 0800 803 909.

Australian visitors

Logies Lab works with clients in Australia. As a small business, Logies Lab is generally outside the scope of the Australian Privacy Act 1988 — but I apply the same standards set out in this policy regardless of where you are.

Marketing emails sent to Australian addresses comply with the Spam Act 2003: identified sender, accurate contact details, and a functional unsubscribe.

Complaints can be directed to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au) or, for spam, the Australian Communications and Media Authority (acma.gov.au).

Children

This site isn't aimed at children, and I don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version goes up here with a new date at the top. Material changes affecting how I use information already collected will be notified directly where I hold your contact details.

Using this site

Use of the website itself is covered by the Terms of Use.
